successful insurance agents

Do you ever think to yourself, “Those agents who are known as successful insurance agents and are also succeeding in life really have their stuff together. Everything must come so easy for them!”

Well take heed: be careful not to confuse perception with reality.

Here’s the truth about work, no matter what a person does for a living: There will be aspects of the job that you are not going to like. There will be things you actually hate about the job.

Strange as it sounds, there 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 be those things, because it means you can 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗿𝗲.

Successful insurance agents do the things that unsuccessful agents are not willing to do.

Not because they like to do it. Because they know they 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 to.

My personal tactic to address what I like doing the least is doing that thing very first in my day. I call it my 𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗖𝗞 𝗛𝗜𝗧𝗦.

Years back, this was cold calling. At the end of each day, I made a list of 20 people to call the next morning. It was the thing I did BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE (including email, chatting with coworkers, and even the second cup of coffee!). Why? For four reasons:

  1. I wanted it OFF MY PLATE as soon as possible.
  2. It got my energy going and I felt a SENSE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT early in the day.
  3. It built MOMENTUM which helped me enjoy the rest of my day.
  4. Some people would actually call me back – so it led to some NEW CUSTOMERS.

𝗦𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲: Identify the one thing you know you 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 to do, but don’t want to do and make it the first thing you do each morning. It won’t be all that fun, but it will be a discipline you’ll master and will thank yourself for it.

Remember: Successful insurance agents do the things that unsuccessful agents are not willing to do.
